Ken-Gøran Mikkelsen:

Ken-Gøran Mikkelsen was born in 1980 in Skjervøy, and lives now in Borge in Vestvågøy in Lofoten (Norway). He has studied at the music conservatory in Tromsø on trumpet with Arne Bjørhei, and one year on organ with Bjørn Andor Drage. He has also studied at the "Kirkelige Utdanningssenter i nord" in Tromsø, with Stephen Sirris.

Ken-Gøran Mikkelsen is today a established trumpetplayer, organist and a composer. He works as a freelance musician on trumpet, piano og organ, as well as a conductor and composer. Beside the work as a professional musician, he works as a organist in Vestvåøgy in Lofoten.

The one thing that makes Ken-Gøran Mikkelsen so very special, is that he plays trumpet and organ at the same time. And it sounds great!

He has released one CD together with the ensemble Cantus Polaris. He also do a lot of concerts with this professional ensemble. This ensemble has also been engaged to play music that has been showed on Norwegian TV. several times.

Today he conducts one adult choir and one childrens choirs on regular basic, but he is often engaged as a conductor -and/or instructor at different occasions, f.ex bigband seminar, marchingband seminar, etc. Read more about Ken-Gøran Mikkelsen as a conductor here.

Ken-Gøran Mikkelsen have as a composer written several pieces, f.ex for choir, brassband, bigband, orchestra, etc. He has also written several pieces that has been ordred directly to him.
